Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safety Shoes General precautions Always ... Assess and make safe immediate area of work/environment Visually inspect test equipment. Visual inspect work done, and mains lead for cut nicks or damage. Check plug for correct fuse rating & wiring (if applicable). Check machine mains socket outlet with Martindale Polarity Tester far correct polarity, Suitably ptoce warning sign in immediate work area. Attach Earth Bond lead to exposed metalwork. Stand dear of mochme and make sure surrounding area is clear. Appfy test and check results. After test. o^ow 30 seconds for casing earth to be discharged. Record findings on maintenance card or sticker stating date of test, PASS or FAIL On failure or inability to PAT machine, leave machine safely isolated to prevent in-advertent reconnection and inform the client. Never Use equipment that has failed calibration or is damaged Attempt to move the machine/cabinet without assessing the dangers or risks to yourself and others.
